A renewable energy credit, or sometimes called a renewable energy certificate, is a certificate corresponding to the environmental attributes of energy produced from renewable sources such as wind or solar.
Entergy Arkansas will retire the RECs corresponding to your subscription on your behalf. You will receive a documentation noting the retirement of those RECs.
Yes, Green Promise is subscribed on an account-by-account basis. You may enroll as few or as many eligible accounts as desired.
For Option 1: Your contract period for this option is one year and will be renewed annually unless you provide written notice not more than six months nor less than two months prior to the expiration of the original term or any anniversary thereof. Should you choose to cancel, you may not re-enroll that account or accounts in Green Promise for a period of at least one year after discontinuing participation in Green Promise.
For Option 2: Your contract period for this option is for a ten-year period and shall be extended automatically for successive periods of one year each until terminated by written notice given by one party to the other not more than six months nor less than two months prior to the expiration of the original term or any anniversary thereof. If the cancellation occurs during the initial ten-year term of the agreement for one or more of your accounts, then a termination payment will be required. If you chose to move the subscription to one of your other accounts, then you will not be required to pay a termination fee.
If you move from your current address, you can keep your subscription if:
For example, if you are a non-residential customer that takes service under the Entergy Arkansas Small General Service tariff at your old location, you will need to take service under the Small General Service tariff at your new location to continue to participate in Green Promise with your existing subscription.
You will see two line items on your bill. The first line item will be your monthly subscription charge and the second line item will be your credit.
Your monthly Green Promise subscription charge is calculated by multiplying the number of kilowatts (KW) you have subscribed to for each account by the Green Promise Subscription Charge (a dollar per KW value). This monthly dollar per KW charge is different depending on if you subscribe to Option 1 or Option 2. You can find the monthly Green Promise Option 1 and Option 2 Subscription Charge table in the Entergy Arkansas Green Promise tariff, Attachment A.
Your monthly credit value is derived by multiplying your portion of the energy produced by the renewable resource(s) assigned to Green Promise by the Green Promise Subscription credit rate, a dollar pew kilowatt-hour (KWH) value. The Green Promise Subscription credit rate starts at $0.029 per KWh for the first year you participate in the program and increases every year. This means your Green Promise credit per KWh grows every year you participate in the program. Every month, Entergy Arkansas will multiply the number of KWh allocated to you based on your subscription size and multiply it by the Green Promise Subscription Credit to get your total monthly bill credit. The Green Promise credit rate is the same for both Option 1 and Option 2 participants.
You are a considered a residential customer if you are served under one of the following rate schedules: General Purpose Residential Service (RS), Optional Residential Time-of-Use (RT), or Residential Energy management Time of Use (REMT). No, the total Green Promise solar credits will vary each month based on the output of the renewable resources that are designated for Green Promise.
